What it is
A force multiplier, not a tool
Every layer you add is a layer they have to beat. This one never sleeps.
A robot on the ground, a drone in the air and people watching both, around the clock. Your cameras, alarms and officers cover more ground, risk goes down, and the cost is a fraction of a guard post. CapEx or OpEx, your call.
The pictures show the high end of the range. The model is fitted to the site and the budget.
The layered approach, at a distribution center
Ten layers. One hard target.
Everything on this list works with whatever you already have on site, with security guards or without them. Each force multiplier makes every other layer more effective, and robotics and drones are one more.
A layered approach is what significantly reduces risk and stops major theft incidents.

- Commercial Grade FenceA hardened perimeter.
- Electric FenceForce multiplierAn added layer of deterrence.
- LED LightingDeters activity and exposes it.

Your site is the hard target.
What you get
A security robot dog, a security drone and a 24/7 operations center
Delivered through Asylon. It ties into the alarms, access control, cameras and sensors already on your site. No cameras on the fence line yet? Our integration partner puts up the ones that talk to the robot and the drone.
DroneDogGround patrol robotIt walks a set route or goes straight to an alarm, with thermal and 20x zoom. It handles stairs and gravel and charges in a weatherproof dock.
GuardianSite droneIt flies the fence line on a schedule and launches when an alarm trips. FAA-licensed pilots fly it under our partner's own waivers.
Operations center24/7, staffed by peoplePeople, not software alone, watch every patrol. Every mission is logged on video. Pictured: a GSOC I built.
More than 250,000 robotic security missions completed.8
The kit
Two layers in the field, one layer in command
Every piece is run and maintained by Asylon. Buy it outright or pay one monthly number.
Ground layer
DroneDog
Built on the Boston Dynamics robot dog with a security payload. Day and thermal cameras stream live video. It climbs stairs, crosses gravel and works through tight spaces, in the dark and in fog.

Reports to
DogHouse
The robot's weatherproof dock. It charges itself between patrols and shelters inside it.
Air layer
Guardian
The site drone, with day and thermal cameras. More than thirty minutes a mission, 35 miles an hour, flies in 25 mile an hour wind, rated IP45 against rain and dust.

Reports to
DroneHome
The drone's all-weather base. It takes off and lands on its own, and swaps its own battery in under three minutes.
Command layer: both report here
- Robotic Security Operations Center. FAA-certified pilots and robotic security specialists on duty around the clock. They watch every mission, step in when something looks wrong and escalate to your team or the police.
- DroneIQ. The software behind it: patrol routes, alarm-triggered missions, analytics, and the connections to your alarms, access control and sensors. Every mission is logged for audit, with tiered access for your team.
- Connectivity. LTE and mesh networking with a Starlink option, redundant uplinks and AES-256 encryption.
Specifications are Asylon's published figures.9
How it works
How a drone security system answers an alarm
Between 94% and 98% of burglar alarm calls are false.3 That is why a person looks first.
An alarm trips.
It can be a door, a fence sensor, a camera or the robot.
A robot or drone goes to look.
No officer walks out to it blind.
An operator verifies it.
A person checks the live video.
Your team gets the call.
Only real alerts reach them. The rest is cleared and logged.
The report reaches the right people.
An automated digital record of the incident, time-stamped with video.
The money
Security robot cost versus a guard post: run your numbers
A guard post is hours times a rate. The robotic layer is one yearly range from Asylon, set by how often it patrols.4
That stays in your budget to fund the next layer: an officer at the gate, cameras on the dock, monitoring.
From my own file
I bought this before I ever sold it
Summer 2023. CEVA Logistics. A transload facility in Compton, California, mid-build, with high-value commodities moving through it because the business could not stop.
Two guards covered it around the clock and product still walked out the door. We raised the rate three times. Nothing changed.
We put Asylon's robot dog on the post instead, at a fraction of the hourly cost. It covered the site all night, every night. The crew made it one of their own. The losses ended.
At the time it looked like a reach. It turned out to be the best return on that site, and it is the reason this page exists.

Add robotic security direct, or through your guard company
- You run the siteBuy it direct
I am not here to sell you more. I am here to make the same dollars cover more. Every layer on this page earns its place by paying for the one after it.
I sit on your side of the table, one point of contact from the first call on. I have bought from Asylon at volume. That history is in your price. A site assessment sizes the layer, and you get one number, as a purchase or as a monthly service. Patrol schedules, call-offs and FAA paperwork come off your team.

Common questions
What security leaders ask about security robots and drones
What is robotic security as a service?
It is a ground robot, a drone and a staffed operations center on one platform. Pay for it as a monthly service, or buy the hardware outright. Either way the provider maintains it, flies the drone and monitors every patrol. You get defined patrol coverage and one number.
Do security robots replace security guards?
It replaces the exterior patrol round, not your officers. What that frees up funds officers where a person matters: the gate, the lobby and the response. Keep them through our guard buying service, or put sworn off-duty police on the post. Robots recharge between patrols, drones need workable weather, and a person still responds.
How much does a security robot cost?
The high-end platform pictured here runs $120,000 to $170,000 a year as a service, depending on how often it patrols. Other makes in the range come in below that, and any of them can be bought outright instead. One 24/7 guard post at $30 an hour is $262,800 a year.
Who flies the security drone and handles the FAA?
FAA-licensed pilots in Asylon's operations center fly it. The waivers to fly beyond line of sight are held by the partner, not by your site.
Does it work with the alarms and cameras I already have?
Yes. It ties into video management, alarm, access control and sensor systems, so an alarm you already own can send the robot or the drone. The connections are planned in the site assessment and added in stages. No power or no cameras on a site yet? A mobile surveillance unit covers it while the permanent system goes in.
