Remote Video Monitoring: Stop It While It Is Happening

A recording tells you what was stolen. Monitoring stops it at the fence. At SAIA, cameras, gates and monitoring in place of guard posts held the guard budget at its 2012 level across 171 terminals.

Quick answer

What is remote video monitoring?

Remote video monitoring connects your cameras to a monitoring center that analyzes every feed 24/7. AI and rules set for your site drill down to what matters, a trained operator verifies what is real, and the response starts while the event is still happening.

1. DetectCameras with analytics spot a person or vehicle after hours.
2. FilterAI and your site rules screen out animals, weather and shadows.
3. VerifyA trained operator checks the live video and makes the final call.
4. RespondA voice on the site speaker first, then police or your team.

Live remote video monitoring vs. a guard post

An overnight guard watches one gate from one chair. Monitored cameras watch every approach at once, all night, and keep a video record for the claim or the police report.

Keep a person where someone has to respond. Let monitoring cover the hours a post only watches. The method is in my guide to reducing security guard costs.

Real-time video monitoring for multiple locations

I have placed millions of dollars of monitoring business with long-standing partners over 13 years, so you get 24/7 monitoring of cameras and alarms at preferred partner rates.

Freight on the road is watched the same way: an embedded GPS tracker in the load reports to a live operator. See cargo theft prevention.

Remote video monitoring cost

Monitored mobile units are priced on the mobile surveillance page, before you talk to anybody. Monitoring for cameras you already own is quoted on the Strategy Call from your camera count and hours.

One point of contact, me, start to finish. Your team stays on its day job.

At SAIA, technology in place of guard posts held the guard budget at its 2012 level across 171 terminals. At CEVA Logistics I built a $31M GSOC that watched every site from one room and paid back in under two years. Running many sites? See GSOC consulting. Need the cameras and gates built first? Common questions

Remote video monitoring FAQs

What is live remote surveillance?

A trained operator watches your cameras in real time from a monitoring center, checks what the cameras detect, and responds while it is still happening.

Does remote video monitoring work with my existing cameras?

Most IP cameras can connect. I check yours on the Strategy Call before anything is bought.

What happens when someone is on site after hours?

The operator verifies it on live video and speaks through the site speaker. If the person does not leave, police or your contact are dispatched. Every event is logged with video.

What does remote video monitoring cost?

Monitored mobile units are priced on the mobile surveillance page, before you talk to anybody. Monitoring for cameras you already own is quoted on the Strategy Call from your camera count and hours.

Do we still need guards?

Where a person has to respond, yes. Monitoring replaces the post that only watches. Where a site needs an armed presence, a sworn officer is the better pick than a guard with a gun.

Where do we start?

One site. Bring the one that costs you the most to the Strategy Call. You leave with what it costs now, what changes, and when it pays back.
