GSOC Consulting: One Room That Sees Every Site

You run dozens of sites, and nobody sees all of them at once.A GSOC puts every camera, alarm and door in front of one team. I built a $31M GSOC at CEVA Logistics on time, in budget, paid back in under two years.

Quick answer

What is a global security operations center?

A global security operations center (GSOC) is one room that watches every site a company runs, in every country, around the clock. Cameras, alarms, doors and guard reports land in one place. AI filters what comes in, and a person makes the final call: talk down to the site, dispatch, or stand down.

A security operations center (SOC) does the same job for one site or one region. A GSOC runs it across the whole company and every time zone.

When a GSOC pays for itself

It pays back by replacing spend you already carry.

Guard hours

Static overnight posts go first. Monitored cameras with a live voice at the gate cover the hours a guard stands and watches, and the savings fund the room.

Headcount

The old GSOC was staffed for every exception, so headcount grew with every site. AI now filters out most false positives before anyone sees them. You staff for decisions, not alarms, and the payroll you do not add pays for more sites on the wall.

Site count

Every site added after the room opens costs cameras and a circuit, not another post.

Bring your site list and your guard invoice to the Strategy Call. You leave with the payback.

Build it or buy it

Own the room for control, buy monitoring as a service for speed, or mix them: own the day shift and the high-value sites, and buy overnight coverage for the rest.

I have bought millions of dollars of live monitoring over the years. That buying power gets you live monitoring through our preferred partner at a better price than you would get alone. MTC Group sits on the buyer's side and carries no quota on any product.

What I do on a GSOC project

GSOC operator consoles with curved monitors in front of the video wall and time-zone clocks
Operator consoles, the video wall and a clock for every time zone you run.
  1. Design. The room, the video wall, the operator stations, and backup power and network.
  2. Staffing model. Shifts, roles and escalation, sized to your alarm volume.
  3. Technology. Video, access control, alarms and analytics working together across every site.
  4. Integrators. I run them and hold them to the schedule and the budget.

One point of contact, me, start to finish. Your team stays on its day job. The build runs through integration services.

Common questions

GSOC FAQs

What drives the cost of a GSOC?

Site count, how many cameras and doors come in, how many decision makers each shift needs, and whether you build a room or buy the service. The Strategy Call puts a range on it for your footprint.

How long does a GSOC take?

Plan in months, not weeks. Design and funding approval usually take longer than the build. Sites then connect in waves, highest risk first.

What is the difference between a GSOC and a SOC?

A security operations center (SOC) watches one site or one region. A global security operations center (GSOC) watches every site in every country from one room, across every time zone. Many companies start with a regional SOC and grow it into a GSOC.

What happens when the network drops?

Each site keeps recording and its local alarms keep working. Sites run on redundant circuits, and the GSOC has a backup plan for its own power and network, so the room never goes blind.

Do we still need guards?

Yes, where a person is needed to respond. The GSOC replaces the post that stands and watches, not the one that acts. The method is in my guide to guard force optimization.
