ABOUT Jim McDonald

Jim McDonald is a proven global security executive and the President & CEO of MTC Group, a consultancy that transforms physical security programs into ROI-driven assets. With over two decades of leadership experience spanning corporate security, law enforcement, and logistics operations, McDonald has built a track record of delivering measurable results for some of the world’s most respected brands.

He has directed global physical security strategy and operations across diverse industries, supporting technology, logistics, automotive, and healthcare clients. His work includes establishing High-Value Freight Security Policies that protect more than 100,000+ high-value shipments annually, deploying AI-enabled GPS tracking, and standardizing layered protection across key trade lanes.

Global Security Innovation

At Crane Worldwide Logistics, McDonald spearheaded the creation of the company’s first Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) in Colombia—a scalable, bilingual hub providing real-time analytics, predictive risk monitoring, and measurable ROI. Earlier, as Director of Corporate Security at SAIA LTL, he led an organic growth initiative that expanded the program from a $250K to $15M yearly budget while reducing annual guard costs by 50% and supporting the launch of 50+ new operational sites nationwide.

Global Security Leadership

Previously serving as Vice President of Global Security for CEVA Logistics, McDonald managed a $70M yearly budget, implemented innovative cost-containment strategies, and executed over 50 M&A integrations exceeding $1M each—all while maintaining customer-centric security and compliance standards (C-TPAT, TSA, TAPA).

Strategic Security Advisory

Today, through MTC Group, McDonald partners directly with decisionmakers to simplify complex security ecosystems, integrate AI and automation for measurable performance gains, and ensure programs deliver sustainable value and resilience—not just compliance.

McDonald doesn’t just protect assets—he turns security into a strategic advantage that drives enterprise growth.
